BDS Fire and Security Ltd joins ID Technology Group

ID Technology Group (IDTG) has expanded into the Fire Detection sector with the recent acquisition of BDS Fire and Security Ltd, a specialist BAFE, NSI Gold and FIA accredited Fire Alarms business for an undisclosed sum.

IDTG, based in Manchester is one of the UK’s leading national providers of security solutions, specialising in CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Access Control and Electronic Article Surveillance Systems. As an NSI Gold accredited organisation, IDTG operates in the retail, commercial and public sectors. Customers include Begbies Traynor Group, DSGi, HMV, NHS, Sainsbury’s, TK Maxx, and Wilkinson.

BDS provides design, installation and maintenance services for fire detection and related systems. Established in 1993, the company employs 45 staff with headquarters in Hackbridge, South London. Customers include the Ford Motor Group, Transport for London, The Palace of Westminster and Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Prudential and RBS.

Following a period of integration, IDTG and BDS will combine to form a new division of the group, ID Fire & Security, providing fire and security services across the UK. The new division will generate sales in excess of £20 million. The existing management team at BDS will lead the specialist fire segment of the division.

IDTG and BDS are part of the ID Support Services Group (IDSS). The acquisition of BDS further broadens the service offering of IDSS as the group continues to strengthen its position as a leading independent supplier of support services in the fire and security, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and other markets. As well as IDTG, IDSS also operates Doncaster based GK Industrial which offers energy efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems nationwide.
